The actual manufacturing of our products is another area where we can make our company more sustainable. We are moving towards reusing some of our own scrap, while maintaining the performance of virgin material. We give some of our other mixed materials scrap (EVA, Softec and our top sheet material) to a company that is reusing it to make building insulation. We have switched as many products as possible to toluene-free bonds so that the workers and environment around the factory are better off. We are currently researching the viability of water-based bonds but so far it does not work well with our particular materials. We are also trying to move the dyes used in our top sheets to vegetable-based dyes, but have had no luck so far in getting this to work.
