I am a 60 year old Male who has been active and athletic all my life. I served in the US Army from 1959 to 1968 and was a Police Officer for another 20 years till retirement, and have spent my working adult life on my feet, not to mention recreational and physical exercise activities. Living in the mountains of Central Arizona, I hike or walk some 25 miles a week and work out my Athletic Club three times a week, leaving the seventh day of the week to bike riding. All this is done in the name of cardio-vascular and physical conditioning as I have long ago discovered that aging is not for sissies. Sedentary lifestyles kill and proper diet and maintaining fitness is how one copes with and mitigates the effects of aging.

Some months ago, I purchased a pair of hiking shoes that were very pricey and of such unapparent poor quality, they nearly destroyed my arches in two months. I was diagnosed by my podiatrist with pronation (Fallen Arches) and Plantar Fasciitis, both *extremely* painful conditions that severely interfered with my exercise and workout routines. He told me that even high quality shoes can harm the arch without orthotic inserts and that orthotics should be worn routinely in all shoes. There were actually times that it the pain was so debilitating that I could not even stand the extra weight of 25 Lb dumbells to do simple arm raises, and I was unable to walk well enough to have effective cardiovascular exercise.It was miserable, believe me.

My podiatrist told me that I needed orthotics urgently and advised that very good brands were available that were as good as any that could be acquired through his office and much less expensive, as customs would take two months to get and would cost over $200.00. My son, a Special Forces team commander, told me about your product that he uses and indicated it was the very best on the market. So, on May 13th this year, I ordered two pair from you and two pair from a competitor for comparison and effect.

The truth is that everyone *should* wear orthotics whether they have foot ailments or not as most shoes and even atheletic gear do not really provide the support that orthotics do, and some orthotics are are far better than others, in concept, design and materials. Support of the foot is critical to the hips and spine and sadly for most of us it takes aging or a bad pair of shoes to discover how critical it is.

I have thrown away the two pair from the competitor as they did not offer the support that yours did, kept yours and have ordered three more pair of Sole Orthotics (Ultra Cushion Style), one pair being for my wife who is now a believer in the need for orthotics.

Your orthotics got me back on my feet and offered so much support that I was actually able to endure the pain of walking, was back in my routine in minimum time and after two and one half months am back into my full routine. The heat to fit feature is great, but I opted *not* to heat the Ultras in order to get full support and cushioning. This week, I heated them for a custom fit as my feet are now healed and my life has returned to normal.

I have recommended Ultras to many of those I know in law enforcement, fire fighting and military service, and I would unhesitatingly recommend them to any one regardless of career, because the truth is, sooner or later, everyone will need orthotics and many painful and expensive foot and lower back conditions can be avoided by wearing a quality orthotic such as the Sole Orhtotics Ultra.. In my humble but experienced opinion, yours is the best product available and offers wonderful support and a very fair 2 yr warranty. The relative thiness of the product allows them to be used in hiking boots or casual moc-shoes without any difficulty. I plan to have them in every pair of foot wear I have before I'm finished.
