Footbed Fitting Instructions

Moldable

THE FIRST STEP IS CHOOSING THE MOLDING METHOD FOR YOUR NEW FOOTBEDS

WEAR MOLD: Place the footbeds into your footwear and wear as with any other shoe. The footbed will wear mold to your unique foot after a few days.

HEAT MOLD: The other option is to heat mold the footbeds in an oven before wearing them. Heat molding will mold the footbeds to your foot instantly, and is recommended for people with very low arches.

TO HEAT MOLD YOUR FOOTBEDS FOLLOW THESE SIMPLE STEPS:
STEP 1

Pre-heat the oven. Do not use a microwave.
CONVENTIONAL OVEN: Set to bake at 200°F / 90°C.
CONVECTION OVEN: Start at 175°F / 80°C.
GAS OVEN (UK): Start at lowest gas mark (1/4, S, SS).

STEP 2

Remove the factory insole from your footwear. If the insole is glued in, leave it in place.

STEP 3

If necessary, trim the footbed to fit. SOLE Custom footbeds should not require trimming to fit in most types of footwear. Please try them in your shoes before doing any trimming. If they do not fit, trim your footbeds to exactly the right size, using your old insole as a guide. WARNING: Only trim the toe end and do not cut them too short!

STEP 4

Place the footbeds directly on the oven rack for 2 minutes, or until the Opti-therm indicator turns black. If it has not turned black after 3 minutes, remove the footbeds from the oven; they will be ready to mold.

STEP 5

Immediately put the footbeds into your footwear. Ensure they are sitting flat in your shoes and the forefoot is wrinkle-free.

STEP 6

Step into your footwear, and tie up as usual.

STEP 7

Stand up straight with your feet shoulder-width apart, toes pointed forward, and knees slightly bent. Your knees should be positioned directly over the top of your second toe. Maintain this neutral position, ensuring your weight feels evenly distributed across your feet, for 2 minutes.
