For the vast majority of us, it's fair to say that we would like to help, but the the commitments of life too often get in the way. In 2004, when Wayne Elsey witnessed footage of the South Asian tsunami and the devastation it created, he knew something had to be done.

Good For Your SOLE Slogan
Our new slogan, "Good For Your SOLE" ™ is now appearing in our marketing and where SOLE products are sold. As you can imagine, it is incredibly difficult to come up with a slogan that embraces our corporate values, your mental association with the brand, and everything in between.

Finding that "Ah-ha" Moment with Big City Mountaineers
In early June we introduced you to the Executive Director of Big City Mountaineers (BCM), Lisa Mattis, and discussed why BCM is an organization worthy of being passionate about. Since then, several of BCM's summer programs have been underway, impacting dozens of kids' lives.
First time BCM volunteer, John Collins, wrote SOLE and explained that BCM doesn't just change the lives of the kids, it also changes the lives of the adults volunteering:

City With A Brain
At SOLE we believe in integrated thinking and integrated design. We are fans of Amory Lovins' (from the Rocky Mountain Institute - rmi.org) book "Natural Capitalism," that deals in a rigorous, scientific way with the idea of design integration. This new city concept in Portugal seems like an interesting step in that direction
