Inside SOLE's Weekend

Kris (UK MD/Sales Director) and Derren have decided to try a bunch of new things. They started with Clay Pigeon Shooting (jolly good fun) and finished with tandem kayaking on the River Lea. With Percy (their sturdy Horizon Perception) and a book by Peter Knowles, called "Pub Paddles," they paddled:

The River Stort:
The quiet Stort runs past watermills and country houses through some of the prettiest landscape in southern England. The river is a tributary of the Lea, and extends to Bishops Stortford. The rural Stort's gentle, winding course has remained unaltered by the passage of time, so you feel like you're in a Brontë sister's novel. Just 14 miles long, the navigation is engagingly beautiful, its mills and maltings a million miles away from the sprawl of Greater London.

The River Chelmer:
The River Chelmer is a river that flows entirely through the county of Essex, eventually discharging into the North Sea via the River Blackwater. Another great paddle that we look forward to doing again sometime.

A view from the back seat - obviously Derren isn't doing his share of the paddling here

Looking forward to paddling and cycling the Lakes District in a couple of weeks (let's hope we can pack it all on the car)!

"Hiking on the south side of the Swiss Alps is paradise! Just a long weekend in the Lago Maggiore region but boy is that journey worth it." - Thomas (UK Sales)

Brandi (Marketing) participated in the NSA "Canadian Co-Ed World Series" tournament in Calgary, AB. With over 100 teams represented in 3 different divisions, the tournament was fun and very wet! Pictured below are members of team Darkside during a midnight game, under heavy rainfall. While Darkside didn't win the tournament, they had a great time.

Despite the current, extremely rainy conditions in the Candian Rockies, Kendra (Hardware Technology Developer) and Jon (Midwest USA Rep) managed to hike the approach to Diadem Mtn. on Saturday and spend Monday hiking and scrambling on Castle Mountain. The snow is already here just below tree line! Winter is on it's way.
